Doug Barrett, CDT
Doug's philosophy of business is to create a healthy environment that enables everyone to comfortably work to their full potential. He received his training at the Pankey Institute and has been in the dental lab industry for more than 40 years. Doug's strong faith and caring attitude make him different from others in his field. He enjoys working with his employees and looks for opportunities to go above and beyond the call of duty for his customers. Doug is very proud of the exceptional people working at Dental Designs.
Doug was born in Omaha and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. He now resides in Omaha with his wife, Sue. Doug and Sue have three boys, Jeff, John, and Joe. Jeff is an Engineer for Burns and McDonnell in Kansas City, John is the Government Relations Director in Omaha for Cox Communication, and Joe is the Manager of the Porcelain Department for Dental Designs in Lincoln. They have eight grandchildren. The most important lesson he has learned thus far is to listen. His honesty and service to his clients is evident by the success of the lab as it continues to grow.
Tim Sweeney. CDT
Tim has been co-owner of Dental Designs Inc. since 1980. His career in the dental lab business spans more than 34 years. His philosophy of business is to surround yourself with interesting people. Treat people fairly. Don't promise what you can't deliver and understand your product. Tim's strengths of relating well to people and knowing all aspects of the dental lab are consistent with the success of the lab today.
Tim's most memorable moments are the day they opened the lab; the day his sons, Ben and Ryan started working for him; and the memory of Lizzy, a talented and gifted employee who was killed in a car accident.
The ability to help people is what Tim enjoys most about his job. Coming to work each day and being proud of the job he does. Making a difference in people's lives and watching his sons evolve in the business. Doctors describe Tim as easy to work with, knowledgeable and professional. Tim has served on the ADA Dental Advisory panel for two terms and was an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska.
Tim was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. He and his wife Jody have three children. His hobbies include golf, running and music. Tim's most memorable book is, The Bio of Theodore Roosevelt and his favorite movie is, "The Godfather".
Tim's most important lessons in life are to be honest and never overestimate your worth. His proudest accomplishments are his family and the continued success of Dental Designs.
